2016年5月、東京阿佐ヶ谷にて行われた『A界隈』公演は、劇場と公共空間を回遊する大々的な市街劇でした。公共空間の境界を身体そのもので炙り出していくそのパフォーマンス行為は、出演者自身のみならず、観客や一般通行人、警察や企画に関わった様々な人たちの間で物議を醸し出し、あらゆる次元における「境界」というものを垣間見る公演となりました。言葉もしくは批評の不在という現代的な問題をまえに、我々はどのようにパフォーマーとしての自分自身と向き合い、社会との関係性を築いていけば良いのか？ 「公共性」とは一体何なのか？ 秩序の裏側には何があるのか？ 強化される監視社会のもたらすものは何なのか？ 残された数々の疑問を投げかける公演となりまりました。

この映像は　2016年11月　京都大学西部講堂にて『「A界隈」とは何だったのか』として、擬似的な街と想定し講堂内を徘徊する舞台作品として再演出した作品アーカイブです。

The “A-Kaiwai” performance held in Asagaya, Tokyo in May 2016 was a large-scale urban drama that migrated between the theater and public space. The performance act of exposing the boundaries of public space with the body itself caused controversy not only among the performers themselves, but also among the audience, passersby, police, and various people involved in the project, and became a performance that offered a glimpse of “boundaries” in all dimensions.
In the face of the contemporary problem of the absence of language and criticism, how should we confront ourselves as performers and build relationships with society?
What exactly is “publicness”?
What is behind the order?
What are the consequences of an intensified surveillance society?
The performance raised a number of remaining questions.

This video is an archive of the work re-staged as “What was “A-neighborhood”?” at the Seibu Auditorium of Kyoto University in November 2016, as a stage work wandering around the auditorium, assuming it to be a pseudo town.
